Art-Tek Tulltorja Reimagines Prishtina’s Former Brick Factory
Art-Tek Tulltorja reimagines Prishtina’s former brick factory as a new district for art, technology and public life. The project is developed by Rafi Segal A+U, OUD+Architects, ORG Permanent Modernity and Studio Rev.
Set across the former industrial site, the proposal works with the existing fabric rather than replacing it. Chimneys, kilns and warehouse halls are retained as anchors of the masterplan, while new red-toned structures introduce contemporary programmes between them.

The 4.1-hectare site is planned as a mix of ateliers, galleries, co-working spaces, technology companies, cultural venues and social infrastructure. Landscape and blue-green systems are used to manage stormwater, restore vegetation and reconnect the former factory grounds with the surrounding city.

Circular reuse is central to the proposal. A robotic mini-factory, Tull-E, is planned to process bricks recovered from demolition and turn them into new building and landscape elements, extending the material history of the factory into its next phase.

The masterplan is conceived as a compact neighbourhood in which workspaces, cultural programmes, public spaces and daily services sit within walking and cycling distance. The project was also exhibited during the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale.

In 2025, Art-Tek Tulltorja received the Holcim Foundation Awards Grand Prize for Europe. The project remains in detailed design, positioning the industrial legacy of Tulltorja as the framework for a new piece of civic infrastructure in Prishtina.
