About ONUP Magazine
ONUP Magazine brings together architecture, interiors, design and urbanism from Kosovo and around the world. Projects worth looking at, people worth hearing from, and ideas about the places we share.
It starts with a place.
ONUP began in 2009, following the buildings, streets and changing cities of Kosovo. There was work being done here that deserved a closer look, and people whose thinking deserved to be heard. That curiosity still guides the magazine.
We look at houses and public spaces, small interiors and ambitious proposals. Some are close to home; others introduce us to a place we have never visited. What interests us is how they are made, who they are for, and what they bring to everyday life.
The people behind the work.
A finished building is only part of the story. There are conversations, disagreements, sketches and decisions behind it. We want to make room for those too, alongside the photographs that first draw us in.
Through ONUP Voices, contributors bring their own experience and opinions to the magazine. They write about the city, the profession and the questions that stay with them. We do not expect every writer to see things the same way. A worthwhile conversation needs more than one point of view.
From Kosovo, with curiosity.
Kosovo is where we begin, and a place we keep returning to. We follow its emerging practices, revisit familiar places and share projects that might otherwise be easy to miss. Looking further afield helps us ask better questions about what is happening here.
ONUP is for architects and designers, students and writers, and anyone who pays attention to the places around them. Alongside the articles, you will find talks, jobs in Kosovo and ways to stay connected with the magazine.
