Kosova mountain resort development

The Republic of Kosovo will soon be initiating investor consultations for exclusive development rights to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Brezovica Mountain Resort in the Sharr Mountain National Park in Shtërpcë/Strpce municipality of southern Kosovo.

Located within close proximity of two international airports hosting low cost carriers, the development footprint includes the existing Brezovica Ski Resort, as well some 1800 hectares of pristine mountain/forest property. With spectacular north and northwest facing ridgeline and a commanding view, the resort area offers up to 151 ski days per year and the potential to develop world-class facilities in one of the only under exploited ski areas remaining in Southeast Europe. The site provides extensive opportunity for additional ski pistes, resort villages, and broader residential and recreational development consistent with a world-class, year-round outdoor tourism destination.

This development rights for the Brezovica Resort Development Project will be awarded through a competitive tender, which is expected to be launched in January 2013 with a formal request for Expressions of Interest. The selected developer will be given flexibility with regard to the development concept, staging, and business plan.
