Prishtina Architecture Week: Day 2
The Prishtina Architecture Week moved into its second and busiest day yet.
It started off with exhibits, student reviews, open studio in the morning and afternoon and concluded with lectures and screening late this evening at Modelarium – FCAE Department of Architecture. The “prime time” of today`s events started with the lecture of Bujar Nrecaj from bnarchitects on his firm`s past and present projects.
After a short break, the public which came in vast number, had a chance to view the screening of XMAS MEIER, a documentary from the Living Architecture Series from Ila Beka & Louise Lemoine. Unlike most movies about architecture, this film focused less on explaining the building, its structure and its technical details than on letting the viewer enter into the invisible bubble of the daily intimacy of Richard Meier`s Jubilee Church in Rome, Italy.
Even though late into the evening, the final lecture of Asa Bruno from Ron Arad Architecture overcame the public`s expectations. Mr.Bruno spoke about studio`s work and for their unique ethos that challenges the relationship between form and function. His lecture focused a great deal on the Design Museum in Holon, Israel, its design challenges and innovative solutions.
The third day starts off with more exhibits, open studios, lectures and screenings. See you there!
