Préssec’s Tune X3 Concept Puts Audio Controls Back on the Headphones
Préssec Design’s Tune X3 is a 2026 headphone concept that places physical dials and switches on the earcups. Separate controls for tone, volume and active noise cancellation make adjustment part of the object’s visible design.
Brushed aluminium housings, exposed fasteners and orange textile cushions recall studio audio equipment. The design raises an interface question: how much can a listener control by touch, without returning to an app?
Tune X3 remains a concept. Technical performance, comfort and production plans have not been established. Designboom published the project on 22 October 2026, with images courtesy of Préssec.
Knurled knobs make the controls visually distinct from the smooth metal housings. The connection between headband and earcup remains exposed, presenting the headphones as an assembly of adjustable parts.
The concept’s value is in that interface proposal. It invites comparison with devices that consolidate functions into a single button or touch surface, while leaving its eventual electronics and manufacture unresolved.
