LECTURE: My work, Konstantinovski
Famous Macedonian architect Georgi Konstantinovski will be giving a lecture on his life work, on the 7th of April, 2015 at the Modelarium of Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”.
He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Skopje in 1956, and went to Yale University to receive his Master of Architecture Degree in 1965. He developed a wide range of design features in his research for individuality, appropriate to the philosophy, structure and art of each building and designed more than 450 architectural and urban projects.
Georgi Konstantinovski early works are considered “brutalist” some of which include the Student Dormitory in Skopje, Cultural Center in Razlovci and also the Printing House “Rilidnja” in Prishtina. He also played a major role in educating future architects in Macedonia and Kosovo too. Architect Konstantinovski has expressed the desire to meet, during his lecture in Prishitna, the now architects who have graduated under his mentorship.
He has won many awards among which are Borba” plaquette for the Archive of Skopje, “Andrea Damjanov” Lifetime Achievement Award and the highest National Award for Art 11 Oktomvri, for the best architectural achievement in Skopje.
The event is hosted by NGO “Urbaniak” in accordance with the Association of Kosovo Architects and the Cathedra of Urbanism and Spatial Planning of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture, part of the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishitna”. The event will start at 12:00.
