The American School of Kosova campus in Shkabaj, near Prishtina, was designed by Maden Group. The scheme combines teaching spaces with shared areas for recreation and other activities.

Daylight, colour and planting connect the different parts of the campus. The kindergarten is arranged around a central gallery and an internal atrium containing an olive tree. Outside, circular planted areas and play spaces form part of the shared grounds.

The high-school building has a reported area of 6,605 m². Its lower level accommodates laboratories, technical facilities and a kitchen with a food-service area.

At the entrance level, flexible shared space connects with an auditorium and galleries. Light from above reaches these circulation areas, while different colours distinguish sections of the school.

The original scheme also anticipated further primary-school and multifunctional facilities.
