BIG Time: a portrait of Bjarke Ingels
A documentary follows Bjarke Ingels through a defining period of his professional journey.
BIG Time is a film portrait of the architect, recorded over five years from 2011 to 2016. It documents his professional career alongside his personal life.
Following Ingels as he prepares for what was then his largest project, a proposed addition to New York’s World Trade Center, the documentary explores the workload, pressures, conflicts and emotions involved in leading one of the best-known international architecture studios.
Ingels is ambitious in his efforts to build a legacy. As his practice grows, he must learn to delegate control while balancing work with his health and family life.
Despite the challenges, his energy remains infectious. The accompanying video offers a glimpse of the architect’s pace and passion.
